Getting Started
Earning your Private Pilot certificate is not has hard as you might think. And with your pilot certificate you can enjoy flying with friends and family on trips day or night of any length.
You will take from 25 - 30 lessons where you meet your FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and do what they call 'ground school' meaning work together on the ground. This is where your CFI makes sure you are prepared for this flight portion of the lesson that follows. Doing this ground school time is a great way to save money and make each flight lesson count as we say. Then you will fly for anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on the purpose for that lesson. After which you will spend some valuable review time on the ground to review your flight lesson.
That's it. In 25 - 30 lessons you will then fly with what's called a check pilot and that person will simply make sure your CFI did a great job, and then you're done!
It will take some study in between lessons, perhaps 2 hours for every lesson. But the more you study the more you save on training.
Depending on how many lessons you take pre week, you could be a Private Pilot in as few as 3 months or less!
Most pilots do not own an airplane; they rent which makes flying more affordable. So let's see what you can do with your new Pilot certificate!
